Minister of Defense presents the 2018 budget allocation to Committee B of National Parliament.
DILI : Minister of Defense and interim Minister of Interior Brigadier General Filomeno da Paixao de Jesus presents the 2018 budget allocation to Committee B of National Parliament. The 2018 budget allocation to the ministry is 20.610 million.
The debate on 2018 General State Budget (OJE), which scheduled to 28 – 29 August 2018will start with general debate, and on 31August 2018, the National Parliament will innitiate detailed or field discussion (debate especialidade). Detailed discussion will last for 5 days. However, preliminary audiences were done between the ministry and Permanent Specialized Committee in order provide clarification regarding the allocation of 2018 General State Budget.
Minister of Defense and interim Minister of Interior Brigadier General Filomeno da Paixao de Jesus stated that he participates on the discussion to inform about the budget for August and September, as well as September up to December 2018. He also presents programs to committee B of the National Parliament in order to obtain feedbacks prior to approval.
“It is we, assumed that the budget is going to cover four months, however, the implementation period is only two months, and there is nothing much to do during this period of time. We will only put more attention on good and services, not on minor capital. We will put attention on soldiers’ wellbeing and the ministry debts such a fuels, maintenance and food,” said Minister of Defense to journalists when finalising the meeting with committee B at the National Parliament (15/08/2018).
